Northwest Arkansas has a ton of great Mexican Restaurants. Any place you go, you have from Tex Mex to authentic Mexican cuisine and everything in between.
My wife, Mallory, and I decided to go to Casa Colina in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on a whim. It’s right as you come into the downtown area in Eureka Springs. It didn’t look like there was very much parking, but you just have to drive up a little hill to get to it.
Since it was a little cold, we opted to sit inside. We were greeted by friendly servers, and they would prove exceptional throughout the night. Mallory convinced me to get the table-side guacamole and that was NO mistake. It was great. They prepare it right beside the table.
Mallory always opts for enchiladas at Mexican restaurants, but she decided to spice to up a little bit with a little bit of avocado topped with a Mexican cream sauce. I ate the Tilapia Veracruz with is “sauteed in a light tomato and white wine broth with olives, onion and capers, served over pasta.” Growing up in Arkansas, pasta to me crosses over into Italian food, but the chefs and owners like to travel and cook from all different types of Mexican food. It was perhaps the most delicious tilapia I have ever had. You have to try it!
So, next time you drive down into downtown Eureka Springs, and you are hungry for authentic Mexican, eat at Casa Colina!
