Culinary Arts Events: Taste and Toast the Season

Winter food and drink events brighten the days with warmth and flavor! Give your taste buds the divine gift of flavor this holiday season at any one of these chef-hosted events, wine tours, and food and beer-centric gatherings.

 

1. Holiday Spirits with Weisi Basore, Dec. 5, Brightwater NWA, Bentonville

Part of Brightwater’s Winter 2018-19 Cocktail Series, culinary master and mixologist Weisi Basore kicks off the first of four cocktail making courses. The series continues on Jan. 30 with Hibernation Libations with Weisi Basore. Basore’s new Restaurant NEFF is set to open in Bentonville in 2019!

 

2. Art of Meals Series with Chef Lindsey Hardin, Dec. 7, Brightwater NWA

Join Chef Lindsey Hardin for final class of her culinary series: Vegan Holiday Treats. Hardin’s vegan versions of dining favorites and holiday treats are to die for, and tickets sell out fast!

 

3. Ozark Wineries Tastings & Tours

Commercial winemaking in Northwest Arkansas dates back to the early 1900s when families who emigrated from Italy, Germany and France found the climate favorable to growing grapes. Today, that rich tradition continues at family owned vineyards and small operations that produce exceptional wines and celebrate the culture of the Ozarks. 

 

Keels Creek Winery in Eureka Springs 

Keels Creek grows eight varieties of grapes and has been producing wine since 2006. Experience award winning wine in the Spanish style tasting room, which is shared with the Keels Creek Art Gallery where the work of more than 15 regional artists is on display.

 

Railway Winery & Vineyard, Eureka Springs

Nestled in the Ozark hills, along the route of the historic Missouri & North Arkansas Railroad line, this small family farm operation grows twelve different varieties of grapes and several fruits. Featuring artisan wines plus plus jellies, coffees and other local products. 

 

Tontitown Winery, West of Springdale

The Taldo House built in 1917 houses the Tontitown Winery, owned by the Ranalli family who have been in the wine business since 1923. Wines are made on-site from local Tontitown-grown grapes. Free tastings seven days a week.

 

Sassafras Springs Vineyard, East of Springdale

Sassafras Springs not only features an award-winning winery, but two event venues at the Chapel Ruins and The Stables on its 30 acres. What was a milk barn 50 years ago is the cozy tasting room, which also has a covered patio with a fireplace. Enjoy daily tasting flights as well as several Arkansas beers.

 
4. CR(EAT)E, Dec. 9, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville

The Crystal Bridges culinary team presents this cooking demonstration, which you’ll enjoy with five courses paired with wine!

 

5. Farm to Table Dining in Fayetteville  

Fayetteville takes farm to table seriously with some of the freshest locally sourced and organic fare around. With dozens of FTT options in town, Experience Fayetteville spotlights some of its top picks.

 

6. WOW: High South Greatest Hits, Dec. 19, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

Join regional chefs and mixologists to discuss and eat the virtues of Northwest Arkansas High South Cuisine.

 

 

7. Frost Fest: Arkansas’ Premier Winter Beer Festival, Feb. 2, Fossil Cove Brewing

Spend the day enjoying craft beer, live music, food trucks, live art and local vendors. Brewery reps will be pouring samples and discussing their product. This festival goes down rain, sleet, snow or shine!
